I see the barriers continuing indefinitely. Social distancing will not go away until a vaccine is approved and in wide spread use. Research has shown that up to 50% of temperature screening miss infected people so I don't know how much longer that will be used. My position as Fire Chief has lead me to put a lot of effort into this pandemic to protect my medical personal. Most of the research I've seen and health department meetings I've attended have advised us to prepare for a spike this winter into spring. Remember we have worked to "flatten the curve" not eliminate it. So we have stretched the length of time the disease will be affecting people. My planning is using the assumption that things will stay the same until next Summer at the earliest.
